We’ve all indulged in such daydreams at some point in our lives. Well, hold on to your seat because I’m about to unveil how I brought one client’s dream to life!
My encounter with the client took place at his downtown Austin condo, where we set out to update his professional headshot.
His requirement was simple: a nice, professional-looking image without being overly fancy. I worked my magic, and within just 20 minutes, he was beaming with delight. He expressed that this photograph captured the most authentic version of himself that anyone had ever managed to encapsulate.
As I was tidying up my equipment, my client approached me with an additional request. He wanted to strike a specific pose that held personal significance, yet lacked a professional representation. Intrigued, I responded with an enthusiastic “Sure, absolutely!” Before I began capturing the moment, I asked him to share a bit of the backstory behind the pose. He explained that it was his go-to pose, but he had never had a professionally crafted version of it. He wondered if I could remove the background and place him amidst the clouds or something similar.
With his trust and granting me full creative control, aside from the request to remove the background and create a cloud-like environment, I embarked on a journey of artistic transformation. Without a doubt, his response to the creative direction I chose was overwhelmingly positive. I must admit, there’s always a hint of uncertainty when presenting one’s ideas and vision to others. However, in this case, I found great satisfaction in the outcome. It was a delightful assignment that allowed me to indulge in two of my greatest passions: photography and creative art. The fact that I was commissioned for both aspects made it all the more fulfilling. Remember, never underestimate the power of your ideas.
